Diesel Bongo fast idle

Hello there from NZ all you Bongo techie types. Bongos have a fast idle mechanism that is activated either when the engine is cold, or when the A/C is on. Mine has stopped working & I wonder whether anybody can point me to what the cause might be. I presume it is either a vacuum or electrical problem - possibly some relay that has got tired & given up. Any pointers much appreciated. Thanks, David

Thanks Mick. I had looked but not noticed that thread. There were some interesting & entertaining perspectives on the problem, but the post from Chin was what I wanted to see. I am pretty sure that the solenoid failure will be my problem & will check it out as soon as I get the chance. Its nice to know where to start to avoid wasting time. Thanks

most common is an air leak on yhe vacuum system ,check all the little hoses
