front exhaust bracket

Hi,
first post/question from a new member. I bought my Bongo 3 weeks ago ( 95 2.5td 2wd) spent time getting to know it and doing interior cleaning etc, but now I need to fix an annoying rattle which seems to come from around the passenger footwell. It sounds like the front exhaust touching/banging against something, but I cannot find anything loose, or that looks too close to anything else. Looking at the front long exhaust pipe I see there is a bracket that attaches it to the auto gearbox housing, is this standard, as I have not seen any mention of this bracket anywhere so far.
Could anyone help me with their knowledge or experience of what this might be.

Hi,its more likely to be a suspension noise (drop links/anti roll bar bushes/brackets etc)if its in the foot well area.These are FC vehicles and the exhaust system is further back.Does the vehicle have 2 starter batteries?

Welcome to the forum . The bracket you mention is standard and can be seen here as Z in this diagram:

As per the other comment, suspension is the most likely source of the noise. It could be worn front drop links or anti-roll bar bushes. Easily and cheaply sorted if that is the problem.

Hi, thanks for input. The noise however seems to knock when stationary, and happens when you switch the engine off and it gives a final 'shake'.
been looking all over for any loose items, or things too close to other things and moving. exhaust system doesnt seem to touch anything even when I was underneath and trying to move it. Got me puzzled!

might be an engine mount

get someone to hold the tailpipe at the rear(with suitable gloves on) then turn it off to check, they usually shake at the rear end but the noise travels up the pipe to the front end, one of the rubber hangers may be weak or the back box hangers broken.
