leisure battery / willinton wiring

Post by helen&tony » Fri Apr 26, 2013 11:45 am

Hi
I've just managed to get a leisure battery at very little more than the UK price..RESULT...!!!...so now it's time to fit the Willinton kit i've had sculling around since last year...In the past, i've just charged a spare battery, and stuck it on the battery tray under the bonnet, but we might get to do some camping soon....hopefully!..
Question....I'm swapping the radio and power sockets over to the LB, but I'm hesitant to swap the lights, as I have a CAT 1 alarm with sensing using the door contacts / lights, but I'm swapping to a more sophisticated one...so, as the alarm has a power from ignition as well as permanent...is there any problem having a switch circuit on leisure , and another via the switched live on the starter..??...it seems that this could be the source of some problems I hear mentioned!?
I'm quite happy to fit auxiliary lights if needed?!
Cheers
Helen
In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

I found on previous Bongo that having interior lights on the LB with alarm on SB caused all sorts of problems due to the voltage drop sensing circuit getting confused. Also found the LB was getting flattened for no obvious reason & I can only conclude it as the alarm being connected to differing supplies with a common earth. I currently have seperate rear lights connected just to the LB & therefore can leave the main lights switched off.

Hi Simon
Pretty much my conclusion, really, so, as I have already taken the roof-light out of circuit, by wiring the doorswitch to the front circuit, I think I'll remove the wire completely and wire it to the LB, as it'll be the only light I'm likely to need at night...and I'll add a couple of LED light units...
Anyway...thanks for confirming that
Cheers
