stuck windows???

Post by Stargazer » Sat Apr 06, 2013 5:38 pm

Sorry if this is a common complaint but I really need some help sorting out my windows! :x I think I have ruled out most of the most obvious things to check, but my windows still keep sticking. for ages it seemed to just affect the drivers side but recently its been the passenger side and the drivers window has miracously fixed itself? its extremely frustrating when the windows keep sticking (especially when they get stuck open!)... there is clearly an on-going issue here so any advice is greatfully received!!

Thanks :D

Check out for broken wires where the loom exits the door by the hinges....common fault

Have you lubricated runners with a lubricant that cured ous but did take two or three applications .

Cut away the outer wiring loom covering and look at the wires within.

Mine were crushed from constant opening and closing of the door.

First fix lasted a while, then I fitted a stent wire, all has been good since.

After the same problem a number of years back i studied a works van at the time & worked out the V set up causes more problems than it solves & did mine like this.....

Taking up the slack in the wing cavity it moves without flexing & breaking the loom... I've done a few like this..

This sticking. Is it just when operated by the drivers switch??
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
