Remove rear side windows for tinting

Post by kernowbongo » Sat Apr 06, 2013 11:41 am

Hi,

can anyone tell me the easiest way to remove the rear side windows ? I am planning to tint them with film, and thought it is best to do it with the windows removed.
I am not going to do the tailgate window as I have read it is very difficult, so I just want to remove the 2 windows in the back on each side.

Has anyone managed to get a good result without removing the windows ?

Any tips are gratefully received !

Is there a fact sheet ?

many thanks,

I think you just undothe cross head screws that hold the catches to the glass, being careful not to loose the black threaded 'button' on the outside.

Did mine quite easy, just need someone to hold the glass when you put it back in.
My best bit of advice is use decent window film which is designed to shrink with heat, I used cheap stuff and it was very hard work. I got someone to do my rear screen, although with decent film I would have a go now.
Watch loads of vids on youtube to see how its done.
