Our 2000 reg Bongo looks great in every way except it is really slow to pull off, it just has no power. Taken it to garage twice now and the diagnostics have been done but nothing wrong can be found. Changed fuel filter, checked compression but nothing is coming to light. Has anyone had a similar problem and have you found the answer? It is not too bad when warmed up, but cold is continually stalls and has is so slow up hills or off the lights. Poor hubby is checking routes everytime he goes to work to find the best flat route with no roundabouts or traffic lights! Would be grateful for any advise.

may be an idea to take it to an mot testing station to get the emissions checked, that may show if its getting air and fuel in the correct measures, and show any faults in the exhaust system.
the 2 litr is very prone to splitting on the twin walled 1st pipe from the manifold, it leaks inside from the inner skin to the outer. this should be fixed as it saps the power. it should sound slightly louder than normal if this is the case. to fix cut off the outer skin, then repair the inner, and weld back the outer.

Thanks, emissions have been tested, as has the exhaust but will follow up on the mainfold. Will let you know how it goes.

If the compression .. spark plugs .. leads . dizzy cap ..rotor are OK then maybe check out the fuel system ..
A point to remember is that an injection system does not have a choke to richen the fuel / air mixture while the engine is cold ..
It relies on temperature sensors to send information to the ECU (electronic Control Unit) to inject fuel faster until the engine warms up ..
Maybe .. something simple like a bad sensor .. wire off / bad lecky connection ..???
