Front Windscreen Wiper.

Post by Titan1995 » Fri Mar 15, 2013 9:14 pm

As turning into my drive tonight my front wipers packed up.

I had heard a click prior to the failure and thought a linkage may have come apart or snapped.

Luckily, the culprit was found to be the nut holding the small linkage on the wiper motor. It had worked loose and was on the last couple of threads. As such was the motor arm was turning in an eccentric orbit and had popped off the ball joint on the connecting wiper motor linkage.

Hopefully the integrity of the socket is not compromised. Time will tell.

So to all might be worth running a spanner on this particular nut.

Got a no doubt rainy trip to Wales along the M4 tomorrow so no wipers would be a major problem.

I have been to Wales many many times and it is always raining. The clouds gather on the Severn Bridge.

Still might well be down in Aberdare tomorrow.
