turn left rear offside knocking

Post by stefan442 » Mon Feb 18, 2013 11:16 pm

There is probably a similar thread somewhere, sorry to ask again if it's relatively recent and easy to find. I have mentioned it before but in someone else's thread and I don't want to hijack the thread.

If I turn mostly full lock left i get a knock which seems to come from the offside rear, maybe it will knock a couple of times. One Or two quick heavy sounding knocks....

And also I get small knocking Sounds when going over smaller bumps, comes from the front. Which I assume is the drop links? I have had a look under and around that area, and to be honest I had to Google what everything is called. But I want to learn, I followed a YouTube video about checking 12-6 and 3-9 etc, and all was fine. The drop links still had rubber on them, but I can imagine under the weight they could go metal to metal.

Someone mentioned engine mount possibly? Where can I find this? I asume there are two Or more.... also anti roll bar could be loose? That's the thing attached the drop links isn't it? When checking around the wishbone area all the rubber mounts etc seemed fine and the cv joint wasnt split and seemed in Good condition.

I did notice the dust covers for the front springs suspension inside thing was split.

Answers on a postcard please!!!. Written on phone, ignore any typos etc.

Thanks,

Stefan
