Hi, I've had the Bongo for 3 years, no problems with starting except on cold winter days when it has rough idle and smokes like a train. Once warm or in the summer no starting problems.
So, it has new glow plugs and glow plug relay.
The glow pugs glow red when earthed against the engine block and the ignition is turned on.
The battery is only 2 years old and gives no trouble.
Tried all the various methods of starting, waiting for the click after the light goes out etc.
Seems as if the glow plugs are switching off too soon.
Any ideas appreciated

Re: Cold start problem
Many thanks for the tips and after checking all the info I have done some investigating. Everything is now in order.
Due to the clouds of white un-burnt diesel I am thinking it may be a fuel pump fault on the return side, which rectifies itself when warm.
