Drivers rear blind switch removal?

Post by Gixermark » Mon Feb 04, 2013 10:56 pm

Hi all

No matter what I tried today I am unable to prise the left drivers rear blind switch out from the dash!
I've tried a small electrical screwdriver down the sides etc but all to no avail, scared to break it using too much force!

Anyone managed to successfully remove the switch and can share the secret please?

Oh yeah, reason for removal ...... want to remove it to spray an electrical cleaner down the rear as it keeps sticking and I'm sure this will relieve the problem!

Take a look at this photo, there are spring out "barbs" top and bottom that have to be squeezed in then you can wriggly it out once the first one is under the edge;

I found most screw drivers went under the barb rather than over it so made the situation worse!
