Low coolant alarm problem
Hi i think my lca might have become faulty, it is sounding continuesly, I have checked the fluid level cleaned the screws and wires, when I touch the wires together it stops is there anything else I Can check?
Re: Low coolant alarm problem
Check that the plastic hasn't filled up the inside of the eyelet preventing the screw bearing down on the connector. Other than that Hadyn will usually give advice on these alarms.tezzer22 wrote:Hi i think my lca might have become faulty, it is sounding continuesly, I have checked the fluid level cleaned the screws and wires, when I touch the wires together it stops is there anything else I Can check?

Hi tezzer22,depending on the type of alarm that you have may well determine the answer, can you give details of the type IE supplier etc.

Re: Low coolant alarm problem
When you touch !what! Wires together to make it stop ??
To check it out.......get a length of wire (about a meter). Bare about a cm at each end......now with the alarm sounding.....touch one end to the head of the screw where it is screwed into the tank and touch the other end to earth.....that should stop the alarm.
That means the alarm is o.k.
Now......take the cap off the tank and instead of touching earth dangle the bare end in the coolant.....that should also shut it up........if it does shut up you have a dirty/coated screw (wire brush it)
Dip the tank with a dry lolly stick.....put it vertically down and it should show 2 cms on the stick when the coolant is cold.
Please try this and report back
