Wheel Rim Sizes, Help Please.

Post by windywatson » Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:42 pm

Hi,

Currently searching the net for set of alloys. Found some I like that seller says are suitable for Bongos.
I'm looking at a set of 15inch as I want to stay on same tyre size. The Mazda service book says the wheels are 15 X 6JJ but the ones I'm looking at are 15 X 6.5J, are these going to be suitable? don't have enough knowlage to know the diffrance between 6JJ & 6.5J.

Look foward to your responses.

Cheers

Richard

The 6JJ will be 6J. Meaning 6 inch wide. 6.5J is 6 and a half inch wide and so on. Slightly confusing as this is not measured edge to edge but in the dish thats only visible with the tyre off. As long as they are of a sensible offset they will be fine. Offset is critical, probably more so than width. Also important is the weight rating of the wheels.
