Noisy bongo

Post by egor617 » Thu Jan 03, 2013 6:05 pm

Any ideas why my bongo engines got noisy over the last week?

I've checked oil/coolant levels and they seem fine, it's driven thru a lot of surface water in the last month could it be connected?

What kind of noise? Squeaky, clattery, rough on startup? Does it happen when cold/warm, under load, going fast? Have you clipped the seats down properly to get a good seal to the engine bay? How old is your exhaust?

Just some ideas...

It's like a clattery ticky noise, the bongo only does 4 miles so doesn't really have time to get up to temp.

My money's on the crank shaft pulley bolt has loosened itself slightly and the clatery noise is the vibrating washer between the bolt n the pulley.
