Low coolant alarm
On these cold mornings my low coolant alarm comes on for a while even though coolant is not low. It is ok once engine is warm or when weather is warmer. Seem to remember something on forum about build up of something on screws in expansion tank. Any ideas

Re: Low coolant alarm
The screws might need cleaning, also is the coolant a strong enough mix, that can also be a cause.
Lost without my Bongo.

Me too..same thing in colder weather, soon warms up and LCA reverts to normal.
Not worried, I always stick a finger tip in (cold!) expansion tank each morning: it's my personal 'digital' LCA

Below 5C it is normal for the alarm to mutter.......you could remove the screw and wire brush it.....it might reduce the muttering.......don,t worry

Hmmm - never had any trouble with mine. Are people using pink (organic) coolant? I use old fashioned ethylene glycol (blue-green in use).
Re: Low coolant alarm
Mine did that and got worse and worse until it took about ten minutes to go off.
Five minute job to take out screws and wire brush, now cured.

Re: Low coolant alarm
The pink stuff does coat the sensor screw for a couple of weeks after it is put in the system.....clean the screw and all will be well
