Rear electric blinds?
Hi has anyone fitted leccy blinds into a non leccy blind model. The car has rear blinds fitted and I can get a full set of electric ones if I want them. I had electric and they are very handy for the kids.

You'll need to fit all the switches and locate all the sockets, assuming that they do use the same standard wiring looms on all versions, I would check first!

Re: Rear electric blinds?
I tried to fit electric blinds to my bongo a few years ago, me and BDC took all the trim out to look for the wiring, NOTHING
Now mine is a FORD so don't know if they cut corners on the loom to make it cheaper, but i don't have leccy folding mirrors and there is no loom for them either.

Lost without my Bongo.

Hi Dave, do you not think you could wire them in without a loom, straight off a leisure battery feed, obviously the 4 rear switches should be easy enough but not sure how you would link in the front 2.

Handy for the kids? You mean something to entertain them on a long journey instead of watching a DVDstuc wrote:Hi has anyone fitted leccy blinds into a non leccy blind model. Sorry, couldn't resist as it's a serious queestion

Probably a similar fashion to the extra independent front sunroof switch i fitted using this 626 dome light...?stuc wrote:the 4 rear switches should be easy enough but not sure how you would link in the front 2.

I still have a working switch in the rear too..
Do you remember this project Geoff?

Am I missing something here? Why would it have the switches if the blinds are manual?stuc wrote:I think everything is there, switches and all.

Yes I was missing something. What he mean't was that the switches are included in the set of blinds that he can get, not that the switches are already in the Bongojaylee wrote:Poohbear wrote:Am I missing something here? Correct the new set comes with everything. At the minute it has nothing but pully up and downy blinds, which are spotless I must add so I would like to swap the material as well.

Sometimes the blinds are up and down more times than a Bigg market lass's pants.

Re: Rear electric blinds?
Nice thought but it wouldn't work - the blinds can still be operated manuallystuc wrote: Now there's a thought I could also add an isolation switch to switch them off like rear leccy windows on a car.

Must admit that I always worked mine manually anyway - couldn't be bothered to turn the ignition on or wire them to the leisure battery
