Replacement stereo

Hello all.
Can anyone advise me on a replacement stereo for my 2001 Petrol, would like to upgrade to something more modern so I can plug my I-Pod in...

You need to get a Mazda to ISO car adaptor like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-323-626 ... 45fc3db213
then follow the wiring back from behind the one fitted (assuming you don't have one fitted already) remove any extra plugin leads (they frequently have several!) and plug in the adaptor and then choose any radio you want if you go for a 1U unit then you will also need to fill in the spare space with say a cubby box like this http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/radio-cubby-mk2253-p-593.html
If you go for a 2U unit then you may need a frame as well as the existing hole is slightly larger than the standard 2U, but others can advise on which ones fit best.

I use a Sonichi DAB radio from Halfords,it's got both FM and DAB plus CD and Aux-in socket,great value
at @ £60

If you have a double Din one fitted you can fill the gap like this

The clock and surround is BMW, I think Hayden has them. The battery gauge I would thiink Maplins or flebay.

I dd write up in the tech section search on volt meter, you should find it, I cant post a link?
The clock is BMW.
The volt meter was abot £3 from Ebay I did post a link to the seller as its also very accurate, the switch was £1 from Ebay so you can switch it on and off as required.
Just carefully trim the pocket in the clock surround and its easy, just measyre twice cut once
