What does it idle at when up to temperature Stuc?? Mine will tick over comfortably at around 750rpm... The cold start & AC solenoids will compensate for this when activated... Idle adjustment screw in the blue when the solenoid is activated for the cold start or AC....

The throttle cable may have been "nipped in" to compensate (in red) if the cold start stuff has been tampered with & not working right...? Ady??? :)
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Hi, started from cold this morning, just a press of the throttle when turning over, idled at around 750-800 rpm no throttle, doesn't rev high on intial start, when hot exactly the same, like I said the van runs great no oddities, or anything strange. Whatever anyone has done hasn't caused any problems.
Air con also works fine apart from I have disconnected the rear cos it was leaking.
Got you thinking with this one chaps.
Glow plugs have arrived so I will put them in and see if the smokey start is cured.

the cold start (white plugged one) must be working if the revs are the same when hot or cold.
cheers jamie for the pics, and yes that is the usual trick.
best to see it i thinks #-o  .

just a press of the throttle when turning over,
Not being quite sure about this term "throttle" does that mean that you blipped the accelerator. If so is that normal for a diesel? When I start my diesel Bongo I have no need to touch the accelerator. If I want to I can even be start my Bongo by just turning the key once the glow plugs light has gone out while standing on the ground outside. No smoke no nothing and my glow plugs are the original ones that my Bongo had installed when it came over from Japan 6 years ago.

On a mild day, I could lean in and start it with a key turn, but at the minute with the glows bust, it just takes a little bit of tlc (throttle linkage control) to persuade it to start.
That should be different noe though as I fitted the new glows today. I was surprised how easy it was, first ever time doing it and it probably took less than an hour.
Will let you all know how it starts tomorrow, it's cold here tonight Brrrrrrrrr!
