Yes I'm a new boy around here,
been lurking and looking for a month now, picked up Ali a week ago.
Home conversion on way. Eventually.
Ive read 13 pages of conversions threads and a big runner is : give me a drawing of what to make.
I don't want that, I would appreciate a drawing of a 97 internals, ie the sizes profiles etc. The DXF reference, a format used for CAD systems, I use Pro-E at work (occasionally) and apart from having been recently "upgraded" (creo2) will have no problem modeling my/ your ideas. I just need real sizes, i know vans will vary so do my eyes and tape measures but a I want a sensible starting point. I remember someone (aber?) talking about a visio layout, any help would be much appreciated. On the first instance to play with layouts.
But have already bought parts for cheapo stab. ready for action!
Anybody know what a DXF is?

Re: Anybody know what a DXF is?
i just bought 3 sheets of 15mm mdf and knocked up the carcasses freehand, did some tweaking before using them as templates for the proper vohringer ply, end result was stunning (quoted by others), didnt go anywhere near a computer or drawing. And im not a joiner by trade.

Re: Anybody know what a DXF is?
Welcome!
I wanted a van that would take an 8'x4' sheet of ply, flat in the back. The interior of a Bongo with all internal trim, from the boot to the back of the front seats is roughly 7'6" by 3'9".
I expect you'll be getting to know the inside of yours quite well, shortly...

Re: Anybody know what a DXF is?
I can give you a google sketchup file that is the accurate internal of the bongo. It is simple mind you. Square wheel arches etc. though it has the windows in the right places at the right heights etc.
I used that to design my conversion, though , as others have said, I then mocked it up in mdf as it is pennies compared to ruining Vohringer, and you can get your curved profiles right by trial and error ( if I cut too much off I added it back with masking tape)
