FUSE BOX MOD

Post by windywatson » Sun Oct 28, 2012 3:18 pm

Hi Fellow Bongonaughts.

I have just been reading through many technical threads searching for a description of how to modify the fuse box so as to operate ancilaries such as radio, blinds etc. I know that it can be done, as I''m sure I read a description some tome ago.
Can some one out ther please put me out of my misery, & tell me how its done or tell me where to find it on this site. When I do a search I only find it reffered to, but cant find the origonal posting. Help Please.

Cheers

The usual mod is to use the Willinton kit & loom in conjunction with a L/B.
If your looking to just switch them over to a continuous supply from the S/B then yes you would need to modify the back of the fuse panel -I warn you its not so easy the little links that run behind linking the common together on the fuses is down inside the block and is a fiddly job to get in cut them and then reconnect to the unswitched supply :-(
So I guess the question is which are you trying to do ? L/B or S/B ?

Hi,
Great news on the fuse box mod. E-mailed Willinton about the possibility of supplying the part of the liesure battery kit that they supply that wires the LS battery to the fuse box to power auxilary equip. He has responded by manufacturing a cable loom/fuse assembly to do the job if you already have a Liesure battery fitted & within a day of asking he has it available on e-bay for £19.99 plus postage. At that price it's hardly worth trying to source and make up the stuff yourself.

I shall be buying & installing. I may do a fact sheet for the installation.
