WINDSCREEN HEATER WOES

Post by chris1trace2 » Tue Oct 16, 2012 8:28 pm

Hi
We have just brought our first Bongo after many years of just talking about it :D
The thing is we are still trying to work out the controls on the Dashboard especially the heating as the nights are getting colder :(
We have purchased a owners manual but does not explain very well how to demist the front windscreen,we were driving home last night in the rain but could not find the right switch to clear the windscreen, all the air just seems to come out of the front of the dash but not on to the windscreen,The model is T Reg and not the slider control type
any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated by us newbies
Many thanks
Chris and Tracey [-o<

On digi control if you put it to windscreen it should divert upwards if not look under the dash between the steering column and heater box you will see a rod if you keep looking and alter controls as you watch you should see it alter the flap.sometimes the rod detaches and it just stays on the face vent etc, worth a try

Its possible the selecter dial disk is broken

its by the drivers left foot and a lug breaks off that controles the outlet.

They are not expensive to replace if you can get one

Mine is an earlier (1998) model but I assume the digital display is similar ..

The windscreen demister (defroster) is a really good feature in the Bongo ..when pressing the left / middle button it automatically puts the fan onto high speed and turns the air conditioning on to clear the humidity...
