Bongo towing a caravan

:D Good morning folks,
I have saved my pennies and for the longer stay I have a new caravan on order for delivery in February. Can anyone tell me the max noseweight for the Bongo.? I am sure this question will have been asked before but I cannot find any response . Many thanks. HAVE A HAPPY XMAS EVERYONE.

How does the ordinary person test/measure/ensure their noseweight is within limits (short of breaking the kitchen scales?).

As your nose weight needs to be between 50 and 70 kilos, or 100 kilos for large caravans,
use a set of cheap bathroom scales.

I would second the kitchen scales with an axle stand on them, needs a wee bit of maths :wink:

Thanks 2sticks and Bumbly1 - I was thinking along those lines. If I ever decide to camp (ooh matron) I'll use the old ones that my daughter says always make her look overweight (!?!)

Bathroom scales, block of wood on top of them to about the height of your tow ball, adjust scales back to zero, rest caravan hitch on top of block and read weight. Adjust caravan contents to suit i.e move things nearer the front if the weight is low. I have the nose weight to about 80kgs when using my caravan. It is important as it affects the stability of the caravan in transit. Helps prevent snaking etc. Keep safe and think of other's safety too! Happy bongovanning.
