URGENT INFO ON TYRES

Post by Colin H F » Fri Sep 28, 2012 2:53 pm

Just got some alloys and the tyres YKOHAMA ASPEC 215/60 617 96H Now I allways thought that they had to go on facing a certain way but I've scrutinised them and they all look the same to me no directional arrows or nothing does it mater which way round this particular tyre goes Colin

after reading a bit more there's more than 1 version of ASPEC? do you have a picture of them?

The direction arrows are usually pretty prominant on the side walls to make them tyre-fitter-proof, so if you've not found them, there's probably nothing to worry about.

Another thing to look for(if appropriate) is the rib that goes round the tyre, the prominent rib goes to the outside.

Wheels fitted now after getting through to the techies they phoned Yokohama boffins and they said they are not directional [not the word they use but I cant remember it] evidently the moulding on the outer edges compensate each other #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o
