I would imagine you will get a splendid welcome Simoni, do come along.
As Jilly has said, she will be confirming with the site on Thursday, so keep an eye here, but let's hope to see you three.
Oh, yes, very warm welcome to the Mad House.

Unfortunately, although Muz is now out of hospital, he has wisely decided a camping trip is not a good idea this weekend
Another has had to pull out for personal reasons from the CC forum.
I am mentioning the reasons because it's not all about the weather!!!! I'll call the site tomorrow morning.

Sadly I will have to bow out of this one. Not the weather, I pulled a muscle in my back on Saturday and its just not going to recover in time. I really wanted to go to this site, but hobling around would just not be fun. Apologies to all.

I'm still up for it, might be in the car. So i can bring two sleeping bags. Can you ask if the ground is up to a tent, if not i'll sleep in the car

I will Chris, although I don't anticipate a problem with a tent on this site. We'll probably be placed up near the roadway, away from the water.Chris&Gem wrote:I'm still up for it, might be in the car. So i can bring two sleeping bags. Re: Eastnor Deer Park, Nr Ledbury – 28 - 30 Sep 2012
I just tried to call the Castle but it's early and there's no one there. I'll try later this morning from work and update on here later.
The Environment Agency website does not anticipate any further problems in the area as the height of the River Severn in Worcester has peaked and is due to peak in the Gloucester area tonight. NB the Severn does not directly affect Eastnor Deer Park. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/ho ... m=Midlands
Weather forecast looks ok until Sunday at least [tanz] http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2650371
When travelling to Eastnor be mindful of low lying areas and stick to the main routes. Follow the directions on the Eastnor Castle website http://www.eastnorcastle.com/find_us_camping.htm to be sure, particularly if you need to cross the Severn.

Re: Eastnor Deer Park, Nr Ledbury – 28 - 30 Sep 2012
Further to my earlier post, I have now spoken to the Castle staff. This meet is ON. Please note that if you ring the Castle, they will tell you the campsite is closed: it is, except for Bongos and Friends and some Duke of Edinburgh girls on the Saturday (should be amusing).
Because the campsite is officially closed, when you arrive you will need to enter a gate code. I will PM each of you with this code at lunchtime today. If you need to contact me my mobile is 07941 895321 and I’m on Facebook (I think most of you know that!). If you’re not on the list and want to come along you are most welcome, but please contact me first for this reason. The gate will automatically open when exiting the park.
At the entrance there is a map of the Deer Park. We will be camping on the Boneyard Field (!). This is the second field on the left. The road winds down through the field and I suggest we use the ground closest to the road, maybe on either side of the road. I am reliably informed that there is some harder ground there but Chris, your tent will be fine too. Note that the ground is obviously wet with the recent weather, so don’t expect perfect conditions! Well I suppose it’s perfect if you like wet!
As we will be the only vehicles on site, it should be easy to camp close together . Please note whereabouts the entrance to the Deer Park campsite is (on the Eastnor Castle website) and please also note the directions, particularly for SatNav users.
I should be arriving at around lunchtime on Friday and will be staying until Sunday afternoon.
Bob, I’m not planning to bring that gazebo – it’s too heavy for me. However, if anyone wants to buy it off me, I’ll throw it in the bongo. It’s an Argos special £30.00 (not instant) with walls (can’t remember cost of walls). All still in the original box and bag – never opened. Let me know as soon as possible.
