FIP Removal

Post by Titan1995 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:57 pm

I have a 2.5 TD WLT engined Bongo.

It has developed multiple leaks from the FIP.

Is it possible to remove the pump while leaving all the drive gears in place. It would appear that the pump spindle is held on with one nut.

I have recently replaced the cylinder head and all was working well for the last three months until today with the FIP leak.

I would be grateful if anyone can supply some help on this one.

Also , is it just coincedence that the seals have blown since running a diesel/ veg oil mix?

the front nut and timing belt pulley will have to come off and tensioner released, then it will slide back out of the crank timing gear, watch the key.

no its not coincidental that the seals are now leaking when on veg. #-o . it sometimes takes out marginal seals, try going back on derv !!.
someone with a lot of experience once said to try a few CC's of acetone per tank of derv, this can make the marginal seals swell again.
