PS
If I were clever enough I would have produced diagrams of what to do.
Sadly my computer skills are not that good!

If anyone else follows these instructions to a successful conclusion can you please post the information, perhaps we could then save it as a factsheet.

I'm going to try this as soona s I get chance. A little worried about which connectors to use but I'm sure a local motor factors will help out. I'll try and take some photos as well and if it all works I'll post.
Likely to be a couple of weeks so if someone else wants to go first then be my guest :-)

Thanks Pippin.

Well I did it, I was rushed for time so not quite as neatly as I had hoped but I simply cut the 2 main wires and then joined them together using one of those 'chocolate block' connectors. I intend to add an extra fusebox instead in the spring (especially if I can afford a leisure battery too).

Only issue is that the radio appears to be fed from here as well. I don't mind that it doesn't switch off with the ignition now but I am a little worried that the backlight never turns off. I know it's only a small current draw but it's bound to flatten a battery given time. For the moment I'm leaving it as the Bongo is used most days but thought it worth mentioning.

just reading this post and it sounds like a good chance of me doing something wrong.

I have purchased one of those 4 way muti cigarette lighters adapters
- would it be ok to wire this permanantly live instead of daisy chaining it off existing cigarette lighter.

If so can someone tell me best place to take a live feed from - or should I go direct from battery - I have 2 batteries wired in parallel (not second leisure battery)
many thanks
