2.5td Problem - Engine wants to stall.....

Post by BeArDy » Mon Aug 27, 2012 2:46 pm

Problem i am having is, when you rev the engine it comes back down to falls to low and wants to stall but then picks itself back up again.
Also it sticks in gear alittle longer than normal (automatic).

Now i have changed the 2 solenoids under the drivers seat and all the vacuums which are involved in them still no differance.
I have changed the back stop sensor on the throttle cable on the pump, still no differance.
On working on the engine i have noticed than its stop doing it kind of reset to the bottom arm/cable (not the throttle cable below this)on the pump which is joined to the actuator. When i used to turn ignition on it would click and reset.

Can anyone shed any light, i am going to leave it to cool off and see weather it has developed any other problems.

Thanks

it wont pick up the throttle on the solenoids if the coolant/engine is above about 50deg c. let it cool and it will. it also will if you switch on the aircon (if it works).
have you tested the sensor with a meter.

have a twiddle with the throttle position sensor on the top of the pump.
