Modifying Fiamma tailgate bike carriers

Post by clutha » Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:14 am

Can it be done?

This is an OAP trying to equip a van at minimal expense

I can see plenty VW T4/T5 2nd hand carriers but so far no Bongo ones

Has anybody modified one, and was it much hassle?

I'm a former engine fitter (marine) so cutting metal isn't a problem.
Freda now gone, :-/ But nice wee Burstner obtained ;-)

If you have a tow bar its easy to make a carrier

The Max looks the dogs, in fact we had one years ago.
I'm up for a tow bar type but Mrs isn't, thinking access to gas bottle will BA hassle. The video would suggest otherwise.
