Baby Seats
Please can anyone help, we are looking for a babyseat for a 3 month old that is suitable for the bongo, Halfords say it is impossible to fit one that is safe! any ideas much appreciated
I probably should keep this quiet, but, hey ho!
I work for Britax (or at least I do until the end of january.)
Now, Britax have an excellent customer services department in Andover.
The company patented a web based tool called "Fit Finder"
How do I know? Well staff in my (I.T.) department created it..
I am sure Customer Services would love to hear from Bongo users for fitting recommendations for Bongos.
Guess who will have his Bongo tested for suitable seats!
I am happy to do this if it helps little un to be safe in dads Bong!
Does this help?
Let me know if you have a problem.
Meanwhile, I will talk to my mate who runs the department and let them run the rule over my Bongo.
Ok?

baby seats
much thanks for all the info, britax customer service here we come!
Hi all.
Since posting my earlier message about Britax car seats and the customer services department, I have spoken to the guy who runs the department and showed him my Bongo.
He was impressed with the Bongo idea first of all!
He has agreed to get his guys to run the rule over mine as a guide.
The message is folks, ring them and see what happens.
I have three interests.
1. The safety of kids.
2. The reputation of Britax
and
3. To help fellow Bongo owners
Mike

I have a britax "first class" which works for both the rear seats (split/folding type) and the middle seat (bench type). It's been good, and was checked at John Lewis. It can face backwards for smaller babies too. The long buckle straps or "bucklecrunch" in the Bongo precludes most child seat models (unless you go with goose's suggestion) - this one has 2 routing options for the belt that deals with it. Watch out if you're sliding the bench seats back and forth that the seatbelt is readjusted afterwards. What ever you get, have a really good look at it when buying to satisfy yourself it is well secured.

Thumbs up for Britax First Class
Yeah
I give the Britax First Class the thumbs up as well, had it checked by the local authority road safety people....as well as my local baby retailers, they said it was a great fit and I am fully satisfied myself that it is a secure fit.
You can use this seat from birth and it comes with an extra small baby insert (very cosy), , you use it rear facing for the first year or so and then it turns round to forward facing till they are four, a very good buy in my eyes as you dont have to buy another one. It is quite a heavy sturdy seat and I prefer to keep it in situe however I do agree that you have to check the tightness of straps every time you slide the seats, but we just dont slide ours unless we really have to. It has an alternative routing unlike other baby car seats so the long buckle thing is not an issue as it is rerouted around the base of the chair. I personally did'nt use the first class as a rearward facing baby seat as my older child was still in it when baby came along, so we used a britax rock a tot deluxe and we did the wrap the seat belt round the bottom of the chair thing to shorten the belt, it fit in fine on the rear seats, by tipping the seat slightly back, we got a good tight fixing. But must admit I am more satisfied with the baby being in the forward facing Britax First Class, it is well secure and gets the thumbs up from us!!!!!
Good Luck

Baby/child seats
Just been to Halfords with a problem about fitting seats to Bongo. A very nice man tried two Maxi-Cosi seats and the one that fits perfectly is the Maxi-Cosi Priori XP;£114.99 at the moment.
We have an AVA 4 seat full conversion and, great people that they are, they utilise the original sliding track system for the seats which gives use of the existing three point seat belts. Seat fits best on offside of rear seat.
Hope that this is of use to readers of the forum.
Cheers for now, Pete & Sue.
