If you can drive your Bongo that far then you can drive it to Allithwaite on the 28th or 29th of July were there is a Bongo meet at Allithwaite Village Hall and playing fields. There you will no doubt be given an honest opinion on your engine by those present.

Allithwaite is just past Grange over Sands so it can't be more than 70miles or 1½hours from you.

Haven't driven it started it for a few seconds, still sounded noisy. We have given up for the day :(

I will call Allan at Plymouth tomorrow. I already talked with Mike at Wheelquick and it's not something they would want to do

I'd be wary of driving it until you know what's happened. If its beyond help, that's a different matter, but there's no harm in hoping. :) Just a thought, I wonder if we have any techie members in Cumbria, who could help you? Maybe you could post in that forum, and ask?
Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth

Thev only one that I can think of is Torchwood in Carlisle but he has not been on the forum for some time.

I agree. I use Adrian at Japan Direct in Bury 0161-763-3003 who is expert with Bongos, good to deal with and not expensive. But again, he may outsource a job like that. Give him a call though?

I got my replacement V6 engine from Nippon Autospares, they had several in stock at the time. They offer a 3 month warranty as long as the engine is kept standard. Mine was from a 2002 model and had done 30000 miles. They can fit but as my Bongo was at another garage in Derby at the time I got them to install it.

Do you mind if I ask what is the cost for buying that and what they charge for fitting ??

Thanks

I remember Roofraisers, they came to a meet of ours -Lovely people.

They are festival animals LOL Ok that sounds a bit dodgy.

Pete and Sue if I remember correctly enjoy music festivals as I do.
