Driver's side, at front of engine, is almost certainly EGR gunk - they almost all have that 8)

No John it's at rear of engine (ie towards rear of vehicle). Too dark to take a decent pic.
1995 Bongo Auto Freetop, owned since November 2011.

Bear in mind, there should be a plastic under-tray below the engine which will catch the drips, so you're unlike to ever see oil on the ground.

Hi i have the same dreaded problem..alot around your rocker gasket as is mine and also at the back of the rocker gasket..
I have the wheezing noise coming from the inlet manifold or exhaust manifold..further inspection needed...
I would certainly take the advice of torqueing the rocker bolts up and clean area around gasket nd rocker cover with degreaser, run and monitor over a few days to see if still leaking. Do easiest first i would say before replacement...
