is it a big block one we wouldnt like to upset the bowling club commitee by being noisy (much) if this weather continues it might be hard to tell the field from the bay (lol)

Actually we have already taken it down there when we first got it to have a look and play. A tire kicker from the bowling green looked down his nose at it and walked off without saying anything. Would travel nicely on their green actually

Hi Jo,
We are "between" bongos at the moment. Our new one is due to arrive next week from Japan, however with the import process and getting it registered etc etc we can't bank on the bongo being ready.
Sadly our wee town car hasn't the capacity for a camp.
However if we can get the new one on the road in time we will try to get up. Would be great to catch up with everyone again.
Regards Oz

Jo the picture of you hovering over the bowling green wine bottle in hand mid match had me spluttering in my tea -love it - must be something about bongo people that makes us grow old disgracefully cos our pensioner wants a go on the hovercraft and seems to prefer his boules to his bowls -
what no olives and cake hope you get sorted in time oz and co.

Re: Flookburgh Steam Gathering 28th and 29th July
Can imagine the sheer HORROR of the bowlers when a drunken Bongonaut invades their pitch and blows all the bowls under 80 skirt pieces!! Would make a good movie eh LOL
If all goes according to plan we hope to have it running in the lower field for a little play. As I said much more fun on the bay and water but it moves. Least we won't need life jackets, Marine VHF radio and a flare.
Brian or the pensioner has the recipe for the olives... Oz imparted the recipe to someone I recall.

OLIVES...........THE RECIPE AND METHOD
After a few libations of some lovely vin rouge during the Jacobs Meet over a rather splendid weekend I was asked for me recipe for them there Olives.
So, by popular demand I've put the info down for you, Jo, Karen, Pete, Alan et al!
Ingredients
Green pitted Olives (in brine)*
Fresh Garlic very finely chopped (to taste)
Fresh or dry chilli very finely chopped (to taste/tolerance)
Fresh lemon (lemon juice if you want)
Olive oil**
Corriander seeds - 2 to 3 tablespoons
Method - please follow exactly
Drain the olives - pour brine away and leave the olives for an hour or so (shake sieve occasionally to get rid of most of it)
Either open a can of larger or pour a large glass of wine (either red or white will do)
Drink above libation and relax - repeat as required
Crush corriander seeds in pestle and mortar and place into large bowl
Finely chop garlic and chilli and place into large bowl
Take 2 slices from 2 end of the lemon (ensure good flesh is in slices) and chop into small pieces and place into bowl
With remainder of lemon, squeeze the fresh juice and place into the bowl. Ensure there are no seeds
Partake of another libation
And another
Take drained olives and put into bowl
Cover the ingredients in the bowl with the olives and mix throughly
Place into plastic tub and leave in a cool place (not the fridge) for about an hour and then taste to see if you need to tweak it by adding extra garlic/chilli/lemon - it's all about your own taste so don't be afraid of changing the quantities
Have another libation and enjoy the olives
*The best ones are in Lidl - a nice big kilo jar for about £1.60 - really good quality and value
** Aldi does really good olive oil, their green top bottle is best for the olives
