Kenwood stereo

Post by hairyneep » Mon Mar 12, 2012 6:38 pm

Not sure if this is a "pimp" or not, it's certainly a new toy.

I wanted a decent stereo for the new bongo and wanted one that fitted the double din hole nicely. I went for this Kenwood DPX504U from Dick Flemming in Aberdeen. It fits perfectly, looks great and sounds great. Just need the remote control now to avoid stretching from the back to adjust the volume, after all isn't Bongo life about taking it easy? :)

That looks really nice sat in there, you just need to change all your dash lights to green now.

The stereo lights match the dash lights pretty well, making sure I could adjust the stereo lights was one of my main considerations about how it looked, you can change it in so many ways, you can even have it in a disco mode that would make me want to hammer it out of the dash

Hi,

Did you install this yourself or have it done for you? Looks very neat. Did it come with everything required and did it need any fettling?

The cost to get it fitted was negligable and not worth getting the tools out so I got them to do it. It didn't need any other parts such as trim panels, just what came in the box with no modifications at all.

I've now got the remote for it too so I can now relax and get lazier :)

Picking up our bongo next week and I need to change the crappy stereo that's in it. Looking at a double din as it looks so much better than having cubby holes or random clocks shoved in there. Seen a jvc one which has DAB so might go down that route. Have you updated your speakers? If so which ones did you get?
