cigarette lighter socket + terminal

hi all
do any of the electrical experts out there know which part of the cigarette lighter socket is the positive terminal ? is it the inside bit that the tip of the plug contacts or the outside bit that the springs on the outside of the plug contact with ?

the inside center contact is positive and the outside is negative

Positive is the centre terminal inside.
