Hi, I feel moved to remind people on the forum what a great piece of kit the willinton split charger is - as though any reminder were needed!
I've had mine for nearly two years and use the bongo daily. Today I needed to change a fuse in it and had a query that I emailed to Martin. He replied in about 10 minutes!
You can't get service like that anywhere these days!
So, that's it really - a great piece of kit, can be fitted by a numpty like me and excellent service two years down the line!
Without doubt, my best bongo related investment!
Big shout for Willinton

Hey Nogob
Thanks for the info, I am looking to buy one of these shortly if I can get them to deliver to Oz. Are they really easy to fit, what battery are you using?
cheers
Michael

I cannot stress enough how inept I am at DIY and anything electrical but I had no problem fitting this - the instructions are step by step (with photographs as I recall) and absolutely idiot proof.
If you're any good at this type of thing I guess you'll do it in no time at all. With me, reading everything twice and working evrything out in my head before I did it, it took about an hour and a half I think.
As I said in the original post, it's a really good piece of kit that just works.
I bought a Numax CXV30HMF leisure battery. I assume somebody must have recommended it to me because I don't know the first thing about leisure batteries either (are you seeing a pattern here?). I've nothing really to compare it with but it still seems to be going strong - I get about 24 hours use from a full charge if I'm static - that's powering a fan type cool box, internal lights and various mobile devices. I tend not to use hook up if I go to Cornwall in the summer and the battery lasts us for the week but we do do pleny of running around in the van so it gets topped up.
Good luck.
