Bongo Parking sensor 1999 model

Post by rhenry » Thu Jun 14, 2012 5:12 pm

Hi

I have just recently bought a Bongo and have discovered the rear passenger parking sensor is not working. Having swapped the sealed united from one of the front ones to test the sensor it does work which mean the sealed unit is faulty. Its is marked up a mitsubishi and has the power coming in on one clip and then the clip going out on the other side to the sensor. does anyone have the same sensor or know where I could get a new part from ? failing that can I just hardwire without the need for the sealed unit ??? apologies not very technical and also new to Bongo's ! ;)

Welcome to the forum!
I guess your referring to the Ultrasonic parking sensors ?
This mechanical diagram has the part numbers http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... 03.html#17
S39F67UC0A For the rear corners
S39F67UB0A For the rearward facing
They are listed here .... at a price ..... http://eshop.original-teile.de/index.ph ... S39F67UC0A
Your best bet might be from someone breaking a Bongo that has them fitted (not many do as it was an option).

Hi Geoff

many thanks, not sure if they are the same or not. I have 2 on front and 2 on rear corners. I have a switch inside with a button that flashes in each corner (and sounds) when nearing object. I guess everyone has different models.

thanks

Humm, not sure that sounds like the standard one. The factory fitted unit has a Front nearside sensor, but NO front offside, then at the rear one in each corner and a pair in the centre. The display is in two parts one on the front dash angled towards the driver and a second that can be seen in the rear mirror which displays the distance from the two rear facing centres.

If its not like that then its much more likely to be a third party fitted unit, in which case it will be just a case of doing a google search on any codes on the defunct unit.

I've got a Mitsubishi set on mine. The switch and 4 LEDs are mounted into a switch blank. Does that sound like yours? Can't really help with part numbers, but you could probably buy some generic ones on eBay and just replace the pair.
