Squealing engine when accelerating

since having the diesel pump replaced our Bongo has now developed a squeal when accelerating, the warmer the engine gets the quieter the squeal seems to become, also if engine is turned off and left to cool for a while when engine is restarted the squeal is 10 x worse until engine warms again, any advice will be greatly appreciated

Usual sign of an engine drive belt slipping / needs adjusting ...

Have a close look at the exhaust manifold. You may find black sooty marks around the front end of it, and possibly the end / nut missing off a stud or 2. Best fix is to have the manifold removed and skimmed, and have all the studs, broken or not, replaced.

It's a common issue with the TD, the manifold warps and pops the No.1 stud.

Symptoms are temperature related squeal, just like a slipping belt.

pull up the seats and get your head in there, first off see which side its coming from, then try n narrow down its source. as said by the others squals are usually made by escaping gas, and your boost pipe/inlet manifold would have been disturbed whilst changing the fuel pump, so is the noise, passenger (usually exhaust manifold, accompanied by black sooty (not the puppet )deposits over the engine, or driver side which is usually the boost elbow to inlet manifold/EGR to boost elbow gaskets
