locking noise

Post by Luke and Debs » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:24 pm

recently have found when opening the driver door i can hear the central locking trying to work on the other locks. it does not actually lock but makes a clunk sound as if it is trying to lock all the doors. all locks fine no issues there. just as u move the door back and forward can hear it going.

anybody had this or know what it is

cheers luke

If you have a L/B then its often the case that the supply is switched over to it for the other doors, if the L/B is low / flat then the other doors won't lock/unlock.

Or possibly a break in a live wire to & from the master switch & the system reconnecting & resetting at the CL relay with the door movement...?
Either way look at the loom between the door & pillar.. http://www.g8dhe.net/bwm/bwmanualp.htm?1995/Page_108
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
