Bleeding Diesel Bongo

Post by Titan1995 » Fri May 18, 2012 10:12 pm

I have just fitted a replacement cylinder head to my bongo. I extended the bleed hose enough that I could hold it inside a funnel right next to the header tank. Made life so much easier having both fluid levels in line of sight as it were.

Also as the funnel volume was less than the header tanks as long as the funnel did not overflow then could juggle the air out without adding too much water. Damn sight easier than doing it in the engine compartment.

I am bleeding exactly the same way as in the links that you sent me....only difference is the bleed pipe is extended so I can monitor both the funnel and header tank a the same time.

That's where you need an extended leg :D. I made a kit for bleeding using a pump and reservoir such the topping up of the expansion tank is taken care of while I can rev it up as required.
