centre arm console

Post by Bongo Sully » Wed May 16, 2012 8:35 am

G'day fellow Bongonauts,

another bit of advice if I may please; have found several centre arm console units on e-bay - you know, the faux leather type.

Has anyone purchased one - and more importantly are they universal fit - the company mailed me back to say they were - but just wanted to know if they are any good and straightforward to fit.

Any advice much appreciated

As long as your vehicle is 1995-1999/2000, then the ones on eBay should fit. After that year, the armrest lid was integrated into the centre consol so is a different shape. Never fitted one myself (I did it the hard way with some spare seat upholstery), but not heard of any great problems with fitting.

Thanks - will give it a go then - they don't seem that expensive if it turns out pants.

Thanks again. :D

Hi, just be careful that you are buying the centre console and not just a cover..the wording is a little hazy! Dave

May be an idea to add a link to what you are looking at. For example, this will fit an existing armrest:

This, isn't going fit very well and will probably be too high:

These are not well cut at all. The seller replaced the first one I had after I complained that it didn't fit, but the second one, although better, still needed a lot of cutting/trimming..

I got mine from them. It was easy to fit but I had to cut and glue it to the arm rest. I think it looks much better then wot I had x

Hello, I bought a cover from them plus handbrake cover in grey leather.the leather was two different shades of grey and they both did not fit.I complained and he sent the replacements. These were just as bad,the fit was nothing like it should be.So complained again and he returned my money and told me to keep the covers,so have I have two lots of covers for spares.I replaced them with some from a firm called Bongomania which look great and fit perfectly. They also do the handbrake cover and the gear selector cover and if you order them all at the same time he will cut them all from the same piece of leather so they match perfectly. They are also cheaper than the other firm whose products are made in china they make them in this country to order Cheers Michael
