Hi , As someone who is doing something similar myself re: TV in roof, I would suggest that rather than a piece of wood in between the bottom and top roofs, that a metal bracket at least the size and thickness of the lower bracket is used in the upper roof space, thereby spreading the load....if that makes sense. I have bought a flip down tv bracket which will allow me to fit a tv up to 7 kg, which is ample for a 19 inch led tv. Also ,as DVD is becoming a redundant medium, a separate player is preferable to a built in one, and most of my films I store on an Ipod classic and attach using an Apple component lead. Dave
