rear heater

Post by Bongolitus » Mon May 07, 2012 11:33 am

My 1998 4WD 2.5 TD Bongo is needing a new bit.. it's the pipe that feeds the rear heater..not sure of its technical name but it comes out the engine, heads towards the back..there's a T junction in it as well.. Sorry to be so vague but if anybody can help with proper name of part or even part number that would be grande..

You description sounds like it could be part 61-2D1...? It's a metal pipe with a tee piece in it, under the drivers seat, but closer to the sill...?

Did your mechanic mention whether the metal pipe had a leak due to corrosion, or is it the rubber hose connecting it up?? [-o<

They are quite tricky to get hold of new. I know where there is a second hand one, but it may not be in much better condition than yours.

Hi. I`ve just recently fitted a new one of these pipes, genuine Mazda part,no.S09A-61-22YA.
This is the metal pipe that goes from the front heater, has a tee to the engine block and then to a rubber hose to feed the rear heater.
My Bongo`s a V6 but i believe the pipes the same on all models.......
I got mine from Bongobits, but be warned, you don`t get much change out of £90 and i had to wait just over 3 weeks for it even though i was told a couple of days.
You could feed 16mm rubber hose in place of the metal pipe, connecting using tee pieces and straight connectors, good bit cheaper n`all

I had the same and replaced mine with 16mm rubber heater hose from the front with a T piece at the back .
Never had any problems
Now taken leaking rear heater out ard replaced the one that goes across to N/S as that started leaking when i removed heater pipe. Its not to bad a job n saves you loads. :D
I would walk 500 miles.
