Re: Draining Coolant
When removing the coolant from the Bongo, should it be flat or is there any benefit in elevating the front or back end to make it easier?
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

From looking at the manual I thought the top-hose drain plug was behind the radiator. Looking at these diagrams, it's under the driver's seat. I can't find it in either place!
Can anyone give a bit more of a clue or a picture to help locate it? is it only visible after the plastic undershield is removed?

Hi,
Never heard of a Top hose drain plug,if you are trying to drain the Radiator the screw type drain plug is on the bottom o/s corner of the radiator.
Cheers.

It came up twice

Re: Draining Coolant
The radiator plug's easy to find. If you read this complete thread you'll find the other mentioned, and an exploded diagram showing it. Unfortunately, trying to find it in real life's a bit harderteenmal wrote:JimD wrote:From looking at the manual I thought the top-hose drain plug was behind the radiator. If I can't find it I'll have to disconnect the hose at the joint, but that would disturb the seal.

To reverse flush the radiator, it'll be easier to undo the hose anyway. Never had a problem with not making a good seal on refitting, but you can always use some Blue Hylomar gasket compound for extra piece of mind.

the top hose drain is halfway along the drivers side steel pipe, it faces the ground, thisconnects to the top hose and the hose that goes to the top of the rad.JimD wrote:From looking at the manual I thought the top-hose drain plug was behind the radiator. its hidden by the steering rack and stuff. its like a 10mm nipple with a tiny constant pressure clip on it. ive seen these rust away and drop off, so you think its a rust scab on the pipe, but when it goes it obviously leaves a hole.
