Whither the wire?

What, oh wise ones, is the preferred route for running wiring from the the front to the back? Under the carpets, under the floor (outside), or behind the side panels?

Please DON'T run cables under carpets! They insulation wears thru and then they tend to arc to the metal floor, with lots of smoke and flames
Follow the existing cable looms, if you need to enter the cab from the bonnet here are holes already in place just needing to be enlarged thru the fire barrier. If it has to reach the engine compartment again look and you will find existing holes, some not used, just make sure that the edges of any holes are protected you can by plastic edging for the purpose.
Getting the length of the vehicle there are several routes, both at high level or low level, again follow the existing cable looms if possible. If you need to run outside the chassis (underneath) then ensure the cable is protected by convoluted trunking. All these items can be found at Automotive electrical stores such as this one http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/V ... mepage.php no particular recommendation but they have always had what I needed in stock and have good delivery.
