Keeping gearbox with torque converter

Post by rclapp » Wed Apr 18, 2012 2:09 pm

Hi,
How important is it to keep a gearbox paired with its original torque converter. Do the two mesh together over time or can you just swap a torque converter onto another gearbox with little bother.
I need a new gearbox and have seen a few but they have no torque converters on them. I don't want to spend additional money on getting one with the converter still on it if I can use the one on my existing gearbox.

I think they're all pretty interchangeable, so if there's nothing wrong with the current one, it should be fine to re-use.

they are interchangable, it is recommended that you keep them paired, but its not essential
