Hi could anyone tell me how to check the oil level in the auto gear box I know there is a dip stick but do I have to have the engine running or not ??

Best do it after a drive when the fluid as warmed up .. hand brake hard on .. move the gear lever from P to L several times .. then leave the lever in P while you check the fluid ..with the engine running ..
You may need several attempts to get an accurate reading ..
The correct fluid is Dexion3 poured down the dipstick tube ..
