Mazda flip out TV: info on connections

Post by Simon Jones » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:07 pm

In my box of things that will come in handy one day, I've got a Mazda flip out TV/sat nav unit. Obviously no use as it stands, but I'd like to to look into possibility of getting the video input going for use with reversing camera or DVB tuner.

I've fired it up and seems to work ok, but I'm after any info on the inputs and what uses people have found for this (or similar) units. Thanks in advance.

Wont this be the wrong video mode? as in NTSC-J, so should work with a camera or equipment from japan? as only the more modern stuff has the capability to change video mode. so be careful before you go spending money on tuners etc

Good point Julian. I'll try sticking a composite video signal in the yellow phono socket and see what happen. If no luck, then it can go back in the box of 'things' :)
