Brake Lights no longer work

Post by nickkesterton » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:18 pm

Just got our Bongo out from winter wraps and the Brake Lights appear to no longer work.
its 1995 bongo that has been converted.

I have downloaded wiring diagrams and remain confused as to where brake switch is fitted etc.

Nice simple question as first forum entry

The brake light switch is here 67-210 http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... no=.html#8
I would check the lamps first, undo the bolts and slide the housings out to the side to get at the holders etc. http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 1of03.html

Thanks for the advice.

Bulbs and fuses good.

I see a threaded hole where brake switch should be...I guess this means that brake lights never worked since we picked up last year

Cheers for that I just need to wok out which wires to plug in

Well it won't have passed the last MOT if it wasn't there then! (Well at least one hopes it wouldn't!)....

Yep that is my worry too.

Bought it last year so MOT now up will get it properly checked.

This is a dissappointing reslult but IU am having to fix a few things anyway...but that's the joy of buying a conversion I guess.

I've never heard of a vehicle missing a brake light switch. Is it definitely not there? If you get stuck finding a replacement, give me a shout as I can probably pick one up for you.
