Quick question on Paint primer

Post by downward dog » Thu Mar 15, 2012 10:26 am

Hi all,
I am poised today with my BF paint repair kit, and suddenly someone says I need primer before the paint and Laquer supplied....there is no primer in the 'all you need' kit...so I assume the paint goes straight on the bare metal....can anyone advise/reassure??

I don't really know alot about the prep work for car body work... But if you are looking at bare metal?
A primer would be needed & layered up in a fine "dusting" of coats...? :-k

Hmmm, thanks.....the BF Kit should maybe include primer then, there are supposed to be instructions too, but all there was just the usual back of the can 'shake' type instructions, no seperate sheet...off to Halfords to buy primer then! (Bongo Towers...should this be made clearer in the kits????)
