I got this from Craigs plates. As far as I know it is legal as the Bongo doesn't have European Type approval and there isn't sufficient space for a standard UK plate. Never attracted the attention of the law anyway.

Designed mine on ebay, and has passed MOT no problem.

That one is definitely illegal as the only emblems allowed on it are the Euro stars and GB, and more recently you are allowed to have the Union flag, Scottish Saltire, Cross of St George or Red Dragon. The strip down the left hand side has to be blue. (This doesn't apply in this case but if a vehicle is newer than Sept 2001 the plate should also have the BS number and the postcode of the supplier on it.)

Your MOT tester has been a little remiss to pass it with that plate on [-X

I've blotted out the EU Stars on my rear plate, just leaving GB. I used a blue permanent marker.

I don't particularly like the EU, mainly because they don't want us to have Japanese home market vehicles, so I have also put Cherry Blossom polish over the gold European Union lettering on my passport.

Ironically my passport shouldn't have European Union on it anyway as it is a Jersey one and the Channel Islands, though British, are not in the EU.

A former schoolmate of mine was so annoyed by the inclusion that he vowed not to hold a passport any more. He died, perhaps of a broken heart induced by the matter, before I had the chance to tell him about the Cherry Blossom polish trick.

My front number plate is a straight line version and some while back I bought an imitation chrome surround from Aldi which I haven't fitted yet after reading that they might make the plate illegal. Is this true?

Being part of the EU means to me anyone can use money worked by our us are fathers/Mothers and Forefathers to be taken from us without *them* working for it, for this reason I am totally opposed to to the "E bl**dy U. No I didn't like Thatcher.

Hi
You should see the mess that they made fitting my number plate (rear), at the registration centre. The "Expert" fitter....solely employed to fit numberplates, was totally "Elephants" and incompetent . This is a normal state for the natives here, and as such , a fine example of the local breeding stock....There's no hope
It took a while to educate this escapee from the land of the sane and competent that the centre of any place or object is actually called the "middle", or halfway between 2 horizontal points
Shoe polish is a rare commodity here...I think they drink it
Can you not get numberplates made up with the National flag any more?.....
Cheers
Helen

Flag? This is the country where less than half the population know which way up to fly the Union Flag properly!!! It should be taught in schools, no American would fly the stars at the bottom (and survive)......sorry.....off topic...will go now and rant elsewhere!
