New battery in France

Post by Scubas00 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:44 pm

Hi all- I am in France at the moment where with temperatures of -22 (and leaving my lights on...) my battery has shockingly died! I'm trying to order a new one on the internet as locally in Chamonix they are 150 Euros plus. I have tried ordering on that great Bosch offer from the UK but for H&S they won't deliver abroad.
The problem I am having is that there doesn't seem to be any DIN numbers against batteries here. Therefore, I'm hoping that one of you lovely bongoists can recommend a (cheapish) battery from the following website for me? www.performancebatteries.fr .
Thanks guys- really appreciated (again!)

Hi
You could try getting it charged locally...just MIGHT work, but if you have to bite the bullet, you need something like 95 / 100 A.h. and minimum 680 /720 CCA battery. The best thing is to measure the current battery, and ensure you get one of similar dimensions, and ensure that the positive terminal is on the right . The Bongo has it's battery fitted rotated 180 degrees round, as the battery always has the battery denoted with the terminals nearest you when out of the vehicle.
Batteries can cost a fair old bit abroad
Cheers
Helen
In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Have a look at a FeuVert store if there is one close.

http://www.feuvert.fr/

They are like Halfords and sometimes have offers on.
Had a quick look at their site (unsurprisingly the Bongo isn't listed) and the larger batteries do seem to be around 150Euro but they may do a deal.

Closest one looks to be at Sallanches down the valley from Cham.
